RED STORM ROBOTICS SUMMER CAMPS
Summer camps run by Red Storm mentors and high-school students. A focused intro to robotics for KPS students who haven’t joined a competitive team yet, or extra workshop time for returning students.
FLL Explore Robotics Camp
KPS Kindergarten – 3rd grade
Groups work together with the Spike Essential kit to explore robotics using motors and sensors. Offered through the EK-STEAM Sizzlin’ Summer Science program.
FLL Challenge — New Student Camp
KPS 4th & 5th grade
Students learn to build and program a robot using LEGO Spike Prime kits, completing missions from previous FIRST LEGO League seasons.
FLL Challenge — Returning Student Camp
KPS students entering 5th grade with prior FLL Challenge experience
Students work together with the LEGO Spike Prime kit to build and program a robot.
FTC Sumo Bot Camp
KPS 6th – 8th grade, new to FTC
Over the course of four weeknights, students work in groups to build and program a small robot to compete in a Sumo Bot Tournament on the final evening.
FTC Returning Student — Mechanical Camp
KPS 7th & 8th grade with 1–2 years FTC experience
Groups design and build mechanisms over four weeknights, competing in 2-minute matches on the final evening.
FRC Work Weeks
High school students
High-schoolers meet over the course of four weeknights per week with mentors developing identified skills for the upcoming FRC season.
FTC Returning Student — Programming Camp
KPS 7th & 8th grade with prior FTC experience
Four-weeknight program using Blocks or Java to complete a series of programming tasks. Sensors and maze-style challenges using Blocks or Java.
