KPS FIRST TECH CHALLENGE
About FTC
FIRST Tech Challenge is the premier middle school sport where teams of students, guided by mentors, design and build 18″ × 18″ robots to battle in a FIRST-designed game. The game changes annually, but is always a fun, alliance-based head-to-head competition.
KPS FIRST Tech Challenge teams are formed in the fall. Teams are made up of about 10 members in grades 6–8, from all three KPS middle schools. Teams meet for 2 hours each week at East Kentwood High School from August through early December.
Red Storm FTC teams participate in 2 qualifier competitions (generally held on Saturdays in November/December). One of these events is the Kentwood FTC Qualifier we host at the East Kentwood Freshman Campus.
